Sheet Metal Deck Installer / Back-Up Driver in Indianapolis, Indiana at Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc

We are seeking an experienced Driver/Sheet Metal Deck Installer/Welder to join our team. This role involves the safe installation of sheet metal decking on steel framing and performing shear stud installation. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working at heights and in varied weather conditions.

$23.00-$27.00/hour plus per diem ($75-$100 daily)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lay and attach metal decking on steel structures
• Operate hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools safely and effectively
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Accurately report time and attendance using technology
• Comply with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus):

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
• Welding Certification
• Aerial Lift Certification

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, hourly, working daytime shift only
• Projects typically last 2-3 months each but some last much longer. When a project ends, each crew travels to a different city/state to start the next project.
• Work hours are based on jobsite requirements and may vary slightly due to seasonal and weather conditions. We have sites in OH, TX, VA, GA, AR, SC, NC, LA and many more.

• 100% nationwide travel required
• You must have your own transportation
• You're responsible for your own lodging
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Work at heights over 40 feet
• Experience working with hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
