Office Manager

Reports to: Head of School

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Some People Manage an Office. Others Become the Heart of a School.

About Linden Waldorf School

Linden Waldorf School is an independent school dedicated to educating the whole child in grades Preschool

- 8. We believe schools flourish when every adult contributes to a culture of warmth, purpose, and service.

The Opportunity

The Office Manager serves as the welcoming heart of the school and the operational hub of daily school life,

blending hospitality, student care, office management, administrative support, event coordination, and

bookkeeping.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as the welcoming face and voice of the school.

• Provide basic first aid and maintain student health documentation.

• Oversee front office operations, records, attendance, supplies, inventory, and mail.

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including invoices, expense coding, reimbursements, deposits, and

purchasing.

• Provide administrative support to the Head of School and Leadership Team.

• Coordinate logistics and execution of school events.

• Continually improve systems, hospitality, and the experience of the Linden community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

• Three or more years of progressively responsible administrative or office management experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace and productivity tools

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

Strongly Preferred

• Experience in an independent school, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization

• Bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, expense coding, and financial recordkeeping

Preferred

• Nursing experience or advanced First Aid certification

• Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software

• Executive Assistant experience supporting senior leadership

• Event planning or hospitality experience

• Knowledge of or appreciation for Waldorf education

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

• Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time standing or sitting.

• Move about to reach students and/or access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Constantly/occasionally operate a computer and other office machinery.

• Ascend/descend stairs and traverse campus.

• Position self as needed, including bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, reaching.

• Lift up to 40 pounds.

• Frequently communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership.

• Actively supervise students with focus even when distractions present.

• Work in various outdoor weather conditions for extended periods of time.
