The Production Supervisor – night shift is responsible for leading shift operations and supporting production-related maintenance activities.

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, productive, and engaged workforce focused on:

The Production Supervisor provides direct leadership to production employees and ensures established standards, production schedules, policies, and procedures are consistently followed.

Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.

Compensation

What You’ll Do

As the Night Shift Production Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop Night Shift production employees.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and results-focused work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable for meeting established standards.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Determine staffing and production-resource requirements for the shift.
  • Utilize production resources in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Monitor production performance and respond quickly to equipment, staffing, quality, or operational issues.
  • Train and develop operators on equipment operational procedures.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained before independently operating production equipment.
  • Identify production challenges and coordinate solutions with Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, and Plant Management.
  • Maintain effective communication with other Production Supervisors and departments regarding production issues, changes, and concerns.
  • Promote teamwork and positive employee relations.
  • Provide coaching and corrective feedback when performance or conduct does not meet expectations.
  • Support employee development and succession planning.
  • Verify employee time records and time sheets for accuracy.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Attend required leadership, safety, quality, and operational meetings.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with employees.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of production areas.
  • Ensure production machinery, forklifts, tools, racks, conveyors, and other equipment are properly maintained and cared for.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, employee engagement, and plant performance.
  • Contribute as a member of the Premium Waters management team to improve overall organizational performance.
Safety Leadership

Safety is a critical responsibility of this position.

The Production Supervisor will:

  • Establish and enforce safety expectations.
  • Provide required safety training to employees.
  • Address unsafe conditions and behaviors promptly.
  • Ensure employees properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Lead by example regarding safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety meetings, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement activities.
Quality & Food-Safety Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor is expected to understand, follow, and enforce applicable:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Sanitation standards
  • FDA requirements
  • HACCP requirements
  • SQF requirements
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Quality checks
  • Food-safety requirements
  • Plant sanitation procedures

Employees and visitors entering production areas must comply with applicable GMP and PPE requirements, which may include:

  • Hairnets
  • Beard nets, when applicable
  • Hearing protection
  • Safety glasses
  • Other required personal protective equipment

The Production Supervisor is responsible for reinforcing these standards throughout the shift.

Equipment Knowledge

Candidates should have experience with or knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as:

  • Fillers
  • Conveyors
  • Labelers
  • Palletizers
  • Tray packaging systems
  • Debagging equipment
  • Material-handling equipment
  • Forklifts
  • Related automated production-line machinery

Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and maintenance is a plus.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory, team-lead, or people-management experience.
  • Strong understanding of production operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in beverage, food, bottling, liquid consumer products, or similar manufacturing.
  • Experience working with GMPs, sanitation standards, FDA requirements, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Manufacturing engineering or technical production experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple types of production-line equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.
