Heavy Equipment Operator in Buckeye, Arizona at GFT Ready Mix

GFT Ready Mix is a rapidly growing, family-owned company founded in 1999. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily plant operations, production, and maintenance. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, moving materials, and helping maintain an efficient, clean, and organized plant.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Position Details

• Location: GFT Ready Mix – Arizona (Plant 4)
• Schedule: Based on operational needs
• Pay: Starting at $25/hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Load, move, stockpile, and unload materials as needed.
• Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with daily plant operations and production activities.
• Keep plant, yard, and washout areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Support plant production goals while maintaining established quality standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Communicate effectively with plant personnel, drivers, and supervisors.
• Perform general labor as needed to support plant operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum of one year of experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment required; two or more years preferred.
• Experience working in a ready-mix, aggregate, mining, construction, or industrial environment preferred.
• Experience performing daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude or basic equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong safety awareness, work ethic, and dependability.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
