Job Description

About Nclusion
Nclusion is on a mission to provide traditional financial services to 1.5 billion people worldwide without access today. Without a secure way to save, invest, or transfer money, individuals are not empowered to accumulate short or long-term wealth. We're changing that by bridging the gap between traditional banking and the communities that need it most.

About the Role
As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll contribute to building the systems and experiences that power Nclusion's financial platform and products. You'll gain hands-on experience across areas like backend services, web and mobile applications, infrastructure, developer tooling, and security — with your specific focus shaped by your interests and team placement.

This internship is ideal for someone excited about software development, systems thinking, and solving real-world challenges through technology. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and operations teams while gaining hands-on experience building scalable, secure products and platforms in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Contribute to building and improving software across web, mobile, backend, or infrastructure systems, depending on team placement.
  • Help develop features and tools that support core business workflows, from customer-facing products to internal platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business needs into well-built technical solutions.
  • Assist with improving performance, reliability, security, and usability of the systems you work on.
  • Support engineering best practices such as testing, documentation, monitoring, and automation.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and technical discussions.
  • Learn modern software engineering practices in a collaborative environment.
  • Work on real-world problems with mentorship from experienced engineers.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, with graduation expected in 2028.
  • Interest in fintech, distributed systems, infrastructure, security, or product development.
  • Experience building projects or coursework using technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, React Native, Node.js, Go, Python, or similar.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, including APIs, databases, frontend or mobile development, and system design concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience through internships, research, hackathons, or personal projects building web, mobile, backend, or infrastructure applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD, or developer tooling.
  • Exposure to event-driven architecture, observability, scalable system design, or mobile development frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools to improve productivity, debugging, learning, and software development workflows.

Benefits and Perks
  • 💸 Competitive compensation – We believe in sharing success.
  • 🍽️ In-office lunch, team events & culture
