The Machine Operator A is responsible for safely operating equipment and manually moving parts through the Turning and Grinding production processes to meet production schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities may include monitoring machine performance, inspecting parts, recording production results, identifying nonconforming material, and preparing completed parts for pack-out. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow standard operating procedures, production procedures, work instructions, and established safety requirements.
- Perform work systematically to ensure all production steps are completed in the proper sequence.
- Move parts through the manufacturing process as necessary to support production schedules and quality expectations.
- Monitor machine readouts, indicator lights, measurements, and other process results to verify that quality standards are being met.
- Perform visual inspections and pack-out activities as required.
- Record production results, scrap, and other required manufacturing information accurately.
- Perform operational preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
- Stop production when a manufacturing process is causing or may cause a quality issue, and immediately consult with the appropriate Team Leader, Set-Up Technician, or Group Leader.
- Provide accurate and complete information to Set-Up or technical personnel when assistance is needed with difficult machine or process problems.
- Assist Set-Up personnel by making authorized minor machine adjustments and tool-setting changes.
- Immediately mark nonconforming parts with a red paint pen and place them in the designated nonconforming material location to prevent them from re-entering the production process.
- Properly identify, handle, and disposition process rejects in the appropriate area.
- Complete daily 5S, general housekeeping, and shift handoff responsibilities.
- Perform major cleanup activities as needed.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires the use of designated personal protective equipment, including safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
The employee must be able to:
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Occasionally push and pull forging baskets and finished-goods baskets.
- Work around manufacturing machinery while following all applicable safety procedures.
