Position Summary

The Sales Driver is responsible for transporting dealership vehicles to support sales operations, guest deliveries, dealer trades, and inventory movement. This role ensures vehicles are safely delivered, properly prepared, and available for guest demonstrations and dealership activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to operate vehicles professionally in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport new and used vehicles between dealership locations, guest locations, auctions, and storage facilities.
• Assist with guest vehicle deliveries and pickup coordination.
• Move and stage vehicles on dealership lots and showroom areas as directed by sales management.
• Conduct pre- and post-transport inspections to identify and document vehicle condition.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for demonstrations or delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement, delivery schedules, and transportation logs.
• Follow all traffic laws, dealership safety procedures, and vehicle handling guidelines.
• Coordinate with sales, inventory, and management teams regarding transportation needs.
• Report vehicle damage, maintenance concerns, or transportation issues immediately.
• Assist with dealer trades and inventory transfers between locations.
• Support dealership events and promotional activities requiring vehicle movement.
• Maintain professionalism when interacting with guests, vendors, and dealership personnel.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by sales or dealership management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated work ethic.
• Good communication and guest service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and follow schedules effectively.
• Familiarity with dealership operations preferred.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior dealership driver, porter, delivery, or transportation experience preferred but not required.
• Experience operating a variety of vehicle types is a plus.
• On-the-job training provided.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving and entering/exiting vehicles throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move vehicles regularly.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good vision, coordination, and reaction time required for safe vehicle operation.

Work Environment

Fast-paced automotive dealership environment with frequent vehicle movement between showroom, lot, guest locations, and off-site facilities. Work includes indoor and outdoor activity with exposure to varying weather conditions, traffic, and moderate noise levels. Occasional extended hours may be required based on dealership operational and guest delivery needs.
