Job Description

KYC/KYB Operations Lead - Hospitality & Complex Entities

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a KYC/KYB Operations Lead - Hospitality & Complex Entities based in United States.

This is a high-autonomy compliance operations role focused on onboarding, monitoring, and remediation for complex hospitality entities.
You will independently manage a dedicated portfolio spanning independent hotels, hotel groups, management companies, and franchise structures.
The role requires navigating layered ownership, beneficial ownership chains, multi-property structures, and licensing relationships.
You will serve as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Sales, Risk, and business teams.
Your work will help ensure partners meet KYC, KYB, AML, and CTF requirements throughout the relationship lifecycle.
You will also contribute to workflow automation, reporting improvements, and more efficient compliance processes.
The position is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who thrives on ambiguity, ownership, and globally distributed collaboration.

Accountabilities
  • Conduct end-to-end KYC/KYB reviews for hotel and hospitality entities, including business verification, ownership identification, and signatory authority validation.
  • Manage complex cases involving hotel groups, management companies, franchise arrangements, and other non-standard organizational structures, providing escalation support when required.
  • Perform periodic reviews of existing partners to maintain compliance with applicable AML, CTF, and KYC requirements.
  • Investigate and map complex ownership structures, including layered beneficial ownership chains and non-obvious organizational relationships.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage onboarding documentation packages, including electronic signature workflows.
  • Monitor onboarding dashboards and provide clear, timely status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate confidently with business and sales-facing teams, explaining compliance requirements and appropriately challenging requests that do not meet policy.
  • Partner with technology teams to identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Risk teams to facilitate effective onboarding and review cycles.
  • Manage work effectively across multiple time zones as part of a globally distributed team supporting US, EMEA, and APAC entities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of overall compliance experience, including at least 2–3 years of specific KYC/KYB, AML, or financial crime compliance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience onboarding or reviewing complex business entities is strongly preferred; direct hospitality industry experience is not required.
  • Strong ability to analyze ambiguous and non-standard organizational structures, including franchise models, multi-property ownership, and layered beneficial ownership.
  • Background in KYC/KYB or onboarding operations is preferred; transaction monitoring- or sanctions-only experience does not align with the core requirements of the role.
  • Strong autonomy and self-direction, with the ability to independently manage a caseload and an entire business vertical with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Familiarity with e-signature and document workflow platforms such as DocuSign is a plus.
  • SQL or reporting-tool experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Comfortable adopting new technologies and AI-assisted workflows to improve compliance efficiency and operational processes.
  • No specific degree is required; relevant professional experience is prioritized over formal education.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Benefits
  • $45–$57 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
  • Core collaboration hours approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM Pacific, with flexibility to support stakeholders globally.
  • 6-month contract, with potential extension based on performance and business needs.
  • Three positions available, with all roles targeted to start concurrently on September 22, 2026.
  • Structured 30–45 day onboarding and training period before transitioning into hospitality-specific casework.
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership over a dedicated compliance caseload and business vertical.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with global Legal, Compliance, Sales, Risk, and technology teams.
  • Exposure to complex KYC/KYB challenges, process automation, and AI-enabled compliance workflows.
