This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test based in India.
This role sits within a specialized Quality Assurance team focused on testing complex cloud data services and distributed technologies.
You will contribute throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test planning through automation, execution, and release validation.
The position combines hands-on manual and automated testing with test tooling and process improvement.
You’ll help ensure backend systems integrate reliably and perform effectively in a highly distributed cloud environment.
Your work will directly contribute to the quality, scalability, and reliability of technology used at global internet scale.
You’ll collaborate within a Scrum team alongside engineers and other technical stakeholders.

- Perform the full QA lifecycle for software releases, including requirements and specification analysis, test planning, automation, execution, and validation.
- Develop and maintain both automated and manual integration and system tests for complex cloud data services.
- Participate in requirements gathering, feature and functional testing, regression testing, load testing, and performance testing.
- Design and implement testing tools and scripts that improve regression coverage, testing productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Develop new testing approaches, concepts, and practices to improve the quality and efficiency of the QA environment.
- Execute comprehensive verification activities to identify defects, integration issues, performance risks, and other quality concerns.
- Contribute to end-to-end testing of backend distributed systems and their integration into large-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Work as an active member of a Scrum team, collaborating with developers and other technical stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and QA processes.
- Help ensure software releases meet functional, integration, performance, and reliability expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, combined with relevant professional experience.
- Solid professional experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Advanced proficiency in scripting and query languages, particularly Python, shell scripting, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, especially HTTP, HTTPS, and DNS.
- Experience testing backend distributed systems and understanding their integration and operational challenges.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and modern cloud-native environments.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, load, and performance testing.
- Ability to develop effective test automation scripts and testing tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with strong attention to detail and a focus on software quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Comfortable working with complex technologies and adapting to new tools, systems, and testing approaches.
