Job Description

Technical Implementations Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Implementations Lead based in Canada.

This is a customer-facing technical leadership role focused on delivering complex healthcare technology solutions across implementation projects. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to configure platforms, troubleshoot technical challenges, design scalable solutions, and provide architectural guidance. The role combines hands-on software development with solution delivery, technical consulting, and professional services support. You’ll collaborate across development, product, solution architecture, support, and customer-facing teams to improve performance, scalability, security, and reliability. You’ll also contribute to business development activities and help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and successfully. As a newly created role, this position offers meaningful scope to shape technical implementation practices within a growing health technology environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Collaborate directly with customers throughout implementation projects, configuring healthcare technology platforms, scripting, troubleshooting issues, designing technical solutions, and providing appropriate architectural guidance.
  • Build strong expertise across relevant technologies and healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, OpenID Connect, Kubernetes, Java, JavaScript, JSON, and XML, while partnering with subject matter experts when needed.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively, recognizing when issues require escalation and ensuring technical and delivery risks are addressed appropriately.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technical standards, and emerging best practices to help customers align their initiatives with modern healthcare technology approaches.
  • Work closely with Implementations, Service, Account Management, and other customer-facing teams to support successful and commercially sustainable professional services engagements.
  • Act as a technical resource for support analysts by helping with troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and the development of technical capabilities across the support function.
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation when required, contribute to RFI and RFP responses to support new business opportunities, and maintain accurate and timely project time reporting through NetSuite.
Requirements:
  • You have 5+ years of professional experience developing with Java and JavaScript, along with proven expertise in Spring, REST, SQL, and Git.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience independently designing, developing, and delivering software solutions while also working effectively within collaborative engineering teams.
  • You bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with customers, technical colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • You demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to identify complex issues, understand their underlying causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • You are highly organized and adaptable, comfortable balancing multiple priorities and addressing a broad range of high-level technical and customer issues rather than working from a narrowly defined task list.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including confidence leading meetings, documenting technical concepts, explaining trade-offs, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, or CCDA; Kafka, ActiveMQ or other messaging systems; MongoDB; Docker; Kubernetes; Python; healthcare systems; cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or iterative methodologies; and an undergraduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field would be valuable.
Benefits:
  • Remote work environment with flexibility to work from home.
  • Flexible time-away policy covering PTO, personal days, and sick days.
  • Competitive salary and health and medical benefits.
  • Employee contribution options through RRSP, TFSA, or 401(k) programs.
  • Life and disability insurance coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program supporting employee well-being.
  • Access to FHIR-focused learning through a dedicated study program and Skillsoft Learning, along with opportunities to develop expertise in healthcare technology and interoperability.
  • Participation in an employee social and community program designed to encourage connection and engagement.
  • A workplace culture centered on respect, inclusion, belonging, and celebrating differences, with accommodations available throughout the interview and employment experience.
