Job Description

Contracts Manager & Operational Support Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contracts Manager & Operational Support Specialist based in the United States.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a contracts professional to play a central role in protecting the business while enabling successful project delivery.
You will manage agreements across the full lifecycle, from review and negotiation through execution, compliance, and closeout.
The role sits at the intersection of contracts, project operations, risk management, and insurance claims.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Operations, Leadership, contractors, and subcontractors in a collaborative environment.
A key focus will be translating contractual requirements into practical project and risk-management actions.
You will also help build scalable processes, streamline workflows, and reduce administrative complexity as the organization grows.
The position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who enjoys solving problems and improving how teams work together.

Accountabilities
  • Manage contracts throughout their full lifecycle, including review, negotiation, execution, administration, compliance, and closeout.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure contractual terms align with project scope, risk profiles, execution strategies, and business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, document, and communicate contractual risks, particularly within environmental and construction-related project environments.
  • Support and manage insurance claims processes, including coordination, documentation, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Work with contractors and subcontractors to monitor contractual compliance and performance against agreed obligations.
  • Support vendor and subcontractor onboarding, including contract review, risk assessment, and documentation.
  • Ensure internal stakeholders understand contract terms and that obligations are properly executed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track key milestones, deliverables, deadlines, and contractual obligations to maintain compliance and reduce exposure.
  • Develop and standardize contract management processes, policies, and workflows to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce administrative burden, and improve contract management practices as the organization scales.
  • Maintain accurate, organized contract records, reporting, and documentation.
  • Provide operational support beyond core contract responsibilities, contributing to project-level coordination, internal business functions, risk mitigation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate flexibly across teams and adapt priorities as business needs and responsibilities evolve.
Requirements
  • 4–5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within environmental, construction, consulting, or another project-based industry.
  • Experience working with contractors and subcontractors, particularly in field-based or project delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of contract structures, risk allocation, contractual obligations, and insurance or claims processes.
  • Ability to connect contract language with practical operational and project risks and clearly explain implications to internal stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting operational teams, project coordination, or internal business functions beyond traditional contract administration.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and evolving responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated to deepen expertise in contract management while proactively improving processes and organizational efficiency.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach with a willingness to support broader organizational priorities.
  • Experience in consulting is not required; candidates with experience in state, public-sector, or similar contract programs are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work within the United States.
  • Generous vacation policy.
  • Medical, dental, and vision health benefits.
  • 401(k) plan with matching options.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life insurance.
  • Sick time.
  • Bonus opportunities.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented working environment.
  • Culture centered on excellence, integrity, accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental, health, safety, and project-based work.
  • Supportive environment that values wellness, professional growth, teamwork, and work-life balance.
