Direct Support Professional (DSP) -

weekend (sat. and sun.) position all shifts 7a-3p. 3p-11p, 11p-7am


Position Summary

Fine Line Studios, an arts-based day program of Resources for Human Development (RHD), is seeking creative, compassionate, and dedicated individuals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through art, self-expression, and community engagement.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will facilitate art activities, encourage creative expression, help participants develop artistic skills, and promote independence and personal growth. Essential ResponsibilitiesIndividual Support & Skill Development
  • Assist participants in achieving goals identified in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Support individuals in developing daily living, social, communication, and community participation skills.
  • Encourage independence, choice, and self-advocacy.
  • Provide supervision and ensure participant safety at all times.
Arts & Creative Programming
  • Facilitate creative and artistic activities.
  • Inspire participants to explore various forms of artistic expression.
  • Assist participants in developing artistic techniques and skills.
  • Support community art projects, exhibits, and creative opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive studio environment.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Document participant progress and activities according to program requirements.
  • Complete daily logs, participation records, and required reports accurately and timely.
  • Report incidents and concerns according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in person-centered planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Community Participation
  • Support participants in community-based activities and events.
  • Transport participants to scheduled activities when necessary.
  • Promote meaningful community integration and engagement.
  • Assist participants in developing relationships and community connections.
Program Support
  • Attend all required trainings, meetings, and agency events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces, supplies, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Support a culture of respect, dignity, inclusion, and person-centered services.

QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clean driving record that meets agency requirements
  • Ability to pass background screenings and other pre-employment requirements
  • Compassionate and professional approach to supporting others
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in human services, direct support, special education, behavioral health, recreation, art instruction, or developmental disabilities services
  • Artistic background, creative skills, or experience teaching or facilitating art activities

The employee must be able to:

  • Assist participants throughout the program day
  • Lift or move items as necessary
  • Operate agency vehicles when required
  • Use computers and documentation systems
