As a Houseman, you are an architect of the guest experience, transforming our elegant function spaces into welcoming environments that facilitate seamless event flows. You serve as a critical link in the service chain, anticipating needs and maintaining pristine surroundings that allow our guests to focus entirely on their event's success.

ABOUT THE HOTEL: The Annapolis Waterfront Hotel is the premiere luxury Hotel in Annapolis Maryland. Located at the mouth of Annapolis’s famed Ego Alley and just steps from the Naval Academy, this waterfront retreat is the gateway to historic Annapolis and the greater Chesapeake Bay, from sailing to strolling the historic streets of downtown.

CORE GUEST-CENTRIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carefully interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to envision and execute the unique atmosphere required for each guest's vision.

• Craft and curate event settings that uphold the highest standards of luxury, ensuring all food, beverage, and meeting components are presented flawlessly.

• Maintain a "stage-ready" environment across all function and common areas, ensuring that the hotel's physical beauty is matched by impeccable cleanliness.

• Steward banquet equipment and furniture to ensure every piece is in pristine, "like-new" condition for guest use.

• Proactively manage service inventories to prevent any interruption to the guest experience during live events.

• Anticipate service needs by maintaining a robust supply of linens, meeting essentials, and sanitization tools.

• Discreetly perform replenishment and sanitation duties to ensure the event flow remains uninterrupted and elegant.

• Uphold a polished environment through efficient and unobtrusive waste management and recycling protocols.

• Act as the "eyes and ears" of the facility, identifying and reporting any maintenance needs that could impact guest comfort.

• Exceed guest expectations by responding to direct requests with warmth, professionalism, and a "yes-if" mindset.

• Collaborate seamlessly with interdepartmental teams to create a unified and superior luxury service standard.

• Prioritize the safety and well-being of all guests and colleagues through diligent adherence to safety and chemical handling regulations.

• Additional tasks as needed and requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Effective time management and multitasking skills

• Maintain a professional demeanor with the ability to interact with and engage individuals of all personality types

• Willingness to take direction

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Previous experience in a hotel banquet operation preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

Maryland: This position pays $15.00 - 27.00 per hour

Delaware: This position Pays $13.25 - 25.00 per hour

Pennsylvania: This position pays $15.00 - 22.00 per hour

Florida: This position pays $16.00 - 21.00 per hour

Texas: This position pays $15.00 - 20.00 per hour
