About IW Group
IW Group is the leading multicultural advertising and marketing agency with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Named Ad Age’s 2025 Multicultural Agency of the Year and recognized by PRWeek for Best in Multicultural Marketing, IW Group produces culture-shaping campaigns for global and national brands.
IW Group drives impactful work by blending storytelling, cultural insight, and innovation to achieve measurable results. We represent multiple brands and deliver distinctive multicultural and cross-generational campaigns.
We’re seeking a resourceful, detail-oriented Junior Editor to join our growing post-production team. This role is ideal for an emerging editor with strong organizational skills, a developing creative voice, and curiosity about how AI can improve the way content is produced.
You’ll work closely with our Post Producer / Editor across branded content, social campaigns, experiential recaps, and digital deliverables. You’ll support larger projects while taking ownership of smaller edits, helping turn raw footage into polished content that meets creative goals and client requirements.
You’ll also partner with our innovation team to help build IW Group’s internal AI editing capabilities—researching, testing, and documenting workflows that connect Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Resolve with tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex.
What You’ll DoEditing & Creative Development
- Edit smaller projects—including social videos, sizzle reels, experiential recaps, and cutdowns—from initial assembly through final delivery, with guidance from the Post Producer / Editor.
- Develop rough cuts and refine pacing, story structure, music, sound, and visual rhythm based on creative direction and feedback.
- Adapt content for different platforms, aspect ratios, runtimes, and audiences while maintaining consistency with brand and campaign standards.
- Incorporate graphics, captions, translated copy, and other supplied assets into edits.
- Collaborate with producers and creatives to strengthen your storytelling, technical skills, and editorial judgment.
Post-Production Support
- Download assets, ingest, organize, sync, and archive footage; prepare proxies and maintain organized project files.
- Prepare projects for editorial handoffs, conforming, color correction, sound finishing, and final delivery.
- Export and detailed quality-check deliverables for picture, sound, captions, graphics, version accuracy, and technical specifications.
- Maintain clear and established file naming conventions, version control, and organized asset libraries.
- Support asset tracking, post schedules, and delivery documentation to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Coordinate with external editors, vendors, freelancers, and production partners as needed.
- Assist with post-related paperwork, including purchase orders and completion reports, and help track media usage rights and client delivery requirements.
AI Editing & Workflow Innovation
- Partner with the innovation team and post-production leads to help build, test, and refine internal AI editing capabilities.
- Explore integrations between Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex, with support from the innovation team.
- Help prototype workflows for tasks such as media organization, transcription, footage search, edit preparation, captioning, versioning, and quality control.
- Use AI assistants to help develop and troubleshoot scripts, macros, and workflow automations, testing results before they are used in production.
- Evaluate new workflows for reliability, time savings, and creative usefulness, and share findings with the team.
- Document successful workflows, create practical instructions, and help colleagues adopt them.
- Apply agency and client requirements for confidentiality, asset security, usage rights, and AI use throughout testing and production.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in editing, post-production, or a related media field; agency, production company, freelance, and internship experience are welcome.
- A portfolio or reel demonstrating editing fundamentals, including pacing, storytelling, music selection, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Final Cut Pro is a big plus but not required if you are well versed in other NLEs such as Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro and familiarity with After Effects and Frame.io.
- Working knowledge of media management, proxies, codecs, export settings, and delivery formats.
- Experience creating social content, cutdowns, and multiple versions of an edit.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex, and an interest in applying them to editing and production workflows.
- Willingness to learn basic scripting and automation with guidance from the innovation team.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong creative instincts and the ability to translate direction and feedback into effective edits.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage files, priorities, and deadlines across multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently under pressure, meet tight deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with producers, editors, creatives, and the innovation team.
- Resourcefulness in troubleshooting technical issues and learning unfamiliar tools.
- Good judgment about when to work independently and when to ask for guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Final Cut Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, including project preparation, conforming, or color workflows.
- Experience with motion graphics, audio editing, and finishing.
- Experience using scripts, macros, plugins, APIs, or other integrations to improve creative workflows.
- Experience with generative AI tools such as Runway, Sora, or ElevenLabs.
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as Monday.com.
- Experience supporting multilingual content, translation versioning, or multicultural campaigns.
- Hybrid work model with three in-office days per week.
- Lunch provided on office days.
- 20 PTO days annually.
- 20 paid holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas week.
- Birthday off.
- Year-round Flex Fridays with half-day Fridays.
- Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) with company match.
