Take ownership of quality engineering strategy and test automation in a customer-focused technology environment. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will design scalable automated testing frameworks, strengthen test infrastructure, and ensure reliable product releases across key product areas. Working closely with Engineering and Product teams, you will integrate quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle and help prevent defects before they reach customers. You will also mentor fellow engineers, influence tooling decisions, and establish standards that improve testing efficiency and product reliability. This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership in a collaborative, innovation-driven culture. Join a remote-first team that values diverse perspectives, continuous learning, and shared ownership of high-quality software.

Accountabilities:

As Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead test automation initiatives, establish quality engineering standards, and collaborate across teams to deliver dependable software products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks covering functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Own and continuously improve test infrastructure to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable automated testing.

  • Define test strategies and lead test planning for major product releases in collaboration with Engineering and Product teams.

  • Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to accelerate feedback and improve release confidence.

  • Increase test coverage, improve test reliability, and identify opportunities to streamline testing workflows.

  • Track and analyze quality metrics, identify recurring defects and trends, and implement systemic improvements to prevent issues.

  • Mentor junior quality engineers, share technical expertise, and promote consistent quality engineering practices across the team.

  • Contribute to quality standards, testing methodologies, framework architecture, and tooling decisions.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify risks early and incorporate quality throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Encourage experimentation, continuous improvement, and effective problem-solving to strengthen product quality and engineering efficiency.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines advanced test automation expertise with strong programming skills, a solid understanding of modern software delivery practices, and the ability to influence quality across engineering teams. The following qualifications are expected:

  • At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering, software testing, or a related discipline, with substantial expertise in test automation.

  • Expert proficiency with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language, such as JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and the integration of automated testing into software delivery processes.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for functional, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective test strategies, improve test coverage, and ensure the reliability of automated test suites.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify quality risks, investigate defects, and drive lasting improvements.

  • Experience using quality metrics and test results to evaluate performance, identify trends, and guide engineering decisions.

  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities, including the ability to support colleagues and promote quality-focused engineering practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and shared accountability.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $130,000 to $145,000, depending on experience, skills, internal equity, and interview outcomes.

  • Stock Options: Equity opportunities that allow employees to participate in the company's long-term growth.

  • Learning and Development: Opportunities to develop technical expertise, explore new tools, and advance professionally.

  • Employee Resource Groups: Opportunities to connect with colleagues and participate in communities that support inclusion and belonging.

  • Inclusive Culture: A collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives, creative problem-solving, and mutual respect.

  • Work Flexibility: Remote work across eligible U.S. locations, with optional office or hybrid arrangements for employees based near Austin, Texas.
