WKS KRISPY KREME, LLC

Position: General Manager

Brand: Krispy Kreme

Reports To: District Leader

Job Overview

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and profitability of a Krispy Kreme shop. This role leads the management team and shop employees to ensure consistent execution of brand standards, food safety, guest experience, and company policies. The General Manager drives sales, controls costs, develops talent, and creates a positive, high-performing work environment while serving as the primary leader of the shop.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee all daily shop operations, including production, guest service, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Krispy Kreme brand standards, recipes, and operating procedures.
  • Monitor shop performance and implement action plans to achieve sales, quality, and operational goals.
  • Maintain shop readiness, equipment functionality, and operational compliance at all times.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure a welcoming, friendly, and consistent guest experience.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Reinforce service standards and speed-of-service expectations with the team.

People Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop management and hourly team members.
  • Schedule and deploy labor effectively to meet business needs while controlling costs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and respect.

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Manage shop financial performance, including sales, labor, product cost, waste, and controllable expenses.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper ordering, receiving, rotation, and storage of products.
  • Analyze reports and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Protect company assets and ensure adherence to cash handling and security procedures.

Food Safety, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain required food safety certifications and ensure trained coverage at all times.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate completion of required operational, safety, and compliance documentation.

Cleaning & Facility Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment, including production areas, guest areas, restrooms, and exterior spaces.
  • Ensure cleaning routines and sanitation standards are followed consistently.
  • Perform and assign cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, wiping and sanitizing surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, cleaning restrooms as assigned, and any other cleaning or side work tasks assigned by management.

Physical Activity

  • Standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Writing, filing documents, and working at a computer.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects.
  • Working in production and guest-facing areas.
  • Communicating with team members, guests, vendors, and management.
  • Use of POS systems, production equipment, and other shop technology, as permitted by applicable state age requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Lifting and carrying ranges:
  • 0–10 lbs: Frequent
  • 11–25 lbs: Occasional to Frequent
  • 26–50 lbs: Occasional with assistance
  • 51–75 lbs: Seldom; team-lift only
  • Pushing and pulling approximately 10–40 lbs of force occasionally.
  • Frequent use of hands for repetitive tasks, equipment operation, and computer/POS use.

Work Environment

  • Work performed in shop production, service, and office areas.
  • Exposure to heat (production areas), noise, wet or slippery surfaces, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Variable schedules including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to handle guest issues, employee concerns, and operational challenges professionally.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, staffing levels, and shop conditions.
  • Ability to manage normal workplace stress associated with shop leadership.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of management experience in food service, retail, or hospitality; multi-unit or production experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of operations, food safety, guest service, and people management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to meet food safety certification requirements as required by local regulations.
