The Senior Associate, Category Management will play a central role in supporting category strategy through analytics, reporting, and insight generation. This position will help translate data into compelling recommendations that enable stronger retail execution and customer engagement.
- Support category management initiatives by analyzing category trends, shopper insights, competitive performance, and market opportunities.
- Provide analytical support for sales teams, including customer presentations, business reviews, and strategic selling materials.
- Build and maintain performance scorecards, dashboards, reporting tools, and recurring insight updates.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses using multiple data sources to identify opportunities related to category growth, SKU optimization, and competitive positioning.
- Analyze point-of-sale data, syndicated research, and panel insights to uncover actionable business recommendations.
- Develop clear data stories that communicate trends, opportunities, and recommendations to various audiences.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support commercial strategies and execution plans.
- Manage the sampling process for sales and influencer shipments, ensuring accurate coordination and execution.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and contribute to continuous improvement of analytics processes.
The successful candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, business curiosity, and experience using data to support commercial decisions. They should be comfortable working with complex datasets and collaborating with sales and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in business analytics, category management, shopper insights, syndicated research, or related analytical roles.
- Background in consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail analytics, or experience supporting CPG clients is preferred.
- Hands-on experience analyzing point-of-sale (POS) retail scanner data and interpreting category performance trends.
- Familiarity with syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen, Circana, SPINS, or similar tools.
- Experience working with panel data sources such as Numerator is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookup formulas, complex formulas, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to make analytical findings accessible to different audiences.
- Experience partnering with sales teams or cross-functional stakeholders to translate insights into action.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ownership of data quality.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a curiosity-driven approach to identifying opportunities.
- Competitive annual salary range of $86,000 – $103,000, depending on experience, education, and qualifications.
- Eligibility for a 10% annual bonus opportunity.
