Import Export Coordinator
Location: Surprise, AZ
Reports to: Trade Compliance Manager
Compensation: $23–$27 per hour, DOE

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Import / Export Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving logistics challenges while ensuring compliance with U.S. import/export regulations. Work Environment:
Primary location is Surprise, AZ, with occasional, paid travel to client locations in the Pheonix Metro area. We offer a travel-friendly environment with mileage reimbursement plus a 30% bonus above the federal rate, along with flexible scheduling during travel to support work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs (CBP) regulations and internal policies
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and export manifests
- Verify HTS classifications and country of origin for accuracy
- Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers
- Monitor shipment timelines, resolve delays proactively, and ensure documentation aligns with export declarations
- Inventory & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate, auditable records of inventory and shipment activity
- Ensure compliance with traceability and recordkeeping requirements
- Reporting & Process Support
- Support weekly and monthly reporting, including export summaries
- Assist with compliance inquiries, documentation corrections, and SOP updates
Qualifications:
- Required
- Working knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and CBP procedures
- 2+ years of experience in import/export operations, trade compliance, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and external partners.
- Preferred
- Experience using the ACE portal
- Knowledge of bonded movements
- Familiarity with trade compliance systems such as Descartes or SAP
- Automotive and/or electronic experience a plus
