Position Summary
The Production/Packaging Associate is responsible for supporting the efficient and accurate production and packaging of products. This includes verifying ingredients and lot information, operating and loading equipment, assisting with cleanup and sanitation, packing finished goods, and identifying or removing defective products. The role ensures compliance with SOPs, GMPs, HACCP standards, and safety policies, while meeting daily production goals and supporting the team in achieving operational objectives. Effective communication with supervisors and adherence to company procedures are essential to maintain product quality and workflow efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
- Assure proper ingredients, lot numbers and date codes are correct for each product run on the line.
- Pour materials into machine hopper, ensure conformance to specifications.
- Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
- Assist in cleaning the production area and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
- Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment.
- Pull damaged or ineffective product off the line. Mark parts or product for identification. Communicates these events to the Packaging Team Lead.
- Load and unload processing equipment.
- Any tasks that support the processes of the production & packaging of the products on their line.
- Perform assignments and directives provided by the Supervisor.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines Standards of Performance (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP’s), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Communicates regularly with the Production Team Lead.
- Accountable to meet daily goals set by the operations management to fulfill customer requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of department area and equipment.
- Follow prescribed safety policies as established by the company.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Understand and follow SOPs and GMP guidelines.
• Ability to comprehend on-the-job training.
• Requires a high degree of accuracy in the job performance and attention to detail.
• Satisfactory knowledge in basic arithmetic. This will enable the employee to perform basic weighing and measuring functions. Must be able to use a calculator.
• Basic reading and comprehension. Employee is required to read and comprehend bulk-manufacturing documentation. Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Satisfactory safety record and work performance.
• Committed to reliable attendance & completion of work assignments.
• Understand importance of teamwork and how it applies to the production environment.
• Willingness to share new ideas with others.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work overtime.
Physical Demands:
• Medium - Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
