Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an EDI Consultant based in India.
You will join a client-facing implementation and integration environment where electronic data interchange plays a central role in enabling seamless business transactions between enterprises and their trading partners. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end EDI onboarding, from requirement gathering through to go-live support and ongoing optimization. You will work directly with clients and internal teams to design, configure, and support secure and efficient data exchanges across multiple systems and protocols. The position involves hands-on mapping, integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of EDI workflows in a fast-paced project environment. You will also act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring smooth implementations and high-quality service delivery. With exposure to multiple standards and technologies, you will play a key role in improving integration reliability and customer experience. This is a highly collaborative role combining technical execution, client communication, and project coordination.
- Engage with new and existing clients to gather, analyze, and document EDI requirements, ensuring clear mapping from business needs to technical specifications.
- Manage end-to-end EDI implementation projects, including onboarding activities, project planning, tracking, and go-live support.
- Configure and support EDI communication channels such as AS2, FTP, and VAN connections for secure data exchange.
- Design and maintain mappings between various data formats including ANSI X12, XML, and flat files using integration tools and ODBC connectivity.
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent EDI transmission and integration issues.
- Maintain project documentation, provide status updates, and ensure timely execution of deliverables within defined timelines.
- Deliver client training and ongoing technical support to ensure successful adoption and usage of EDI solutions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance EDI processes, improve performance, and strengthen overall client service delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across integration workflows, tools, and operational processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in EDI implementation, system integration, project coordination, or client-facing technical support roles.
- Strong understanding of EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and related integration frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with file transfer protocols including AS2, FTP, and VAN.
- Experience working with data mapping, transformation, and integration workflows across multiple systems.
- Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies through documentation, training, and self-learning.
- Experience in ERP or EDI platforms is considered a strong plus.
