Oversee the design, implementation, and operational performance of network infrastructure across a national portfolio of commercial real estate assets, ensuring reliable connectivity, security, and user experience standards across Allied’s environments. As Analyst, Network Infrastructure, you will support both hands-on network operations and infrastructure planning, contributing to the stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of network systems.
Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, you will collaborate closely with Technical Services, Security, and internal teams to deliver high-performing and resilient network environments. You will be responsible for network discovery and design, day-to-day IT/OT operations, and end-user support, ensuring infrastructure is well-documented, proactively monitored, and aligned with operational and compliance requirements.
- Adept at gaining access, designing, and mapping networks.
- Assess and predict site requirements for network installations, such as power, cabinet, internet circuit, physical security, and cabling.
- Perform Wi-Fi spectrum analysis to plan and assess wireless coverage.
- Cable tracing: Use of cable toner and fiber pens to identify cable runs and connectivity.
- Document IT infrastructure, identifying key information such as POPs, MDFs, IDFs, Wi-Fi antennas, circuit numbers, riser rooms, and conduits.
IT/OT Operations:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the network.
- Proactively monitor and test networks to ensure they remain within operational standards.
- Install and configure all network hardware and equipment, such as firewalls, routers, switches, access points, and UPSs.
- Plan and implement improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components.
Customer Support:
- Able to maintain a high level of user satisfaction.
- Communicate and guide end-users to resolve networking issues.
- Work on incoming service tickets.
Must have:
- Certification as a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CND (Certified Network Defender), and/or equivalent experience.
- Core knowledge of networking protocols, network communications and the OSI model.
- Experience with Cisco IOS, ArubaOS and/or Palo Alto.
- Ability to lift networking equipment.
- Researching new technologies, providing demonstrations, and presentations.
- Communicating effectively with a diverse group with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Would be an asset:
- Bilingual in French and English (strong asset).
- Experience with Meshtastic and other long range wireless communication technologies such as LoraWAN, Wifi Halow, etc.
- Experience with scripting of IT automation systems such as Python, Nornir, or Ansible.
- Experience with building automation systems.
- Experience with cloud technologies: AWS and Azure.
- Experience with network management and monitoring systems such as Zabbix, Netbox, Nethook etc.
- Experience with Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or whiteboxes.
- Experience with Network Authentication Controls.
- Experience using packet capture tools and discovery fundamentals.
- Experience with architectural or electrical drawings.
