Job Description

Senior Brand Graphic Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Brand Graphic Designer based in Canada.

This is a high-impact creative leadership role for a designer who combines strategic brand thinking with hands-on execution.
You’ll own the visual identity system, shaping how the brand looks, feels, and evolves across audiences, products, and channels.
The role spans brand strategy, design systems, campaign creative, digital experiences, events, sales materials, and product launches.
You’ll work closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, and other leaders to translate business priorities into compelling visual experiences.
You’ll also leverage generative AI tools to increase creative velocity while maintaining a distinctive and consistent brand.
As a creative team of one, you’ll have significant autonomy while deciding when to bring in freelancers or agencies to scale production.
This is an opportunity to build a scalable brand system within a growing, globally connected organization focused on meaningful social impact.

Accountabilities
  • Own and evolve the brand framework, including color, logo usage, typography, photography, iconography, illustration, and other visual standards, maintaining it as a documented and adaptable system.
  • Define how the brand flexes across diverse customer segments while preserving a recognizable and cohesive overall identity.
  • Establish product-level visual standards across multiple product lines, ensuring each remains clearly connected to the overarching brand.
  • Develop and maintain scalable brand architecture that can accommodate future acquisitions, integrations, sub-brands, and product evolution.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Sales, and leadership teams to translate business strategy and positioning into practical visual standards and creative direction.
  • Create guidelines, templates, reusable components, and other tools that enable non-designers to produce consistent, high-quality materials independently.
  • Lead the visual integration of future acquisitions and determine when products or sub-brands should be merged, differentiated, or retired within the broader brand hierarchy.
  • Personally create high-quality brand and marketing assets, including campaigns, newsletters, content, sales collateral, websites, product launches, events, trade shows, and social media.
  • Use generative AI creative tools to improve creative speed and production capacity while applying strong design judgment and brand discipline.
  • Build and maintain reusable creative libraries, templates, and components that increase efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Define and oversee photography and illustration direction, whether work is commissioned, sourced, or AI-generated.
  • Scope, brief, coordinate, and quality-check work from external freelancers and agencies when additional production capacity is required.
  • Balance strategic brand leadership with hands-on creative production, maintaining a high standard across a high-volume environment.
Requirements
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in brand and graphic design, including direct ownership of brand systems, frameworks, or style guides.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic brand thinking—such as systems, frameworks, guidelines, and architecture—and polished creative work that has been shipped across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated professional fluency with generative AI creative tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or comparable platforms, with AI integrated meaningfully into a creative workflow.
  • Experience maintaining cohesive visual identities across multiple customer segments, sub-brands, products, or business lines.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Strong ability to collaborate strategically with cross-functional stakeholders and translate business objectives into effective creative solutions.
  • Comfortable operating as a creative team of one, independently setting priorities, defining creative strategy, executing work, and determining when outside support is needed.
  • Experience building or evolving brand architecture in the context of mergers, acquisitions, multi-brand organizations, or significant business growth.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for combining strategic brand development with hands-on design execution.
  • Experience briefing, coordinating, and managing freelancers, agencies, photographers, illustrators, or other external creative partners.
  • Strong visual judgment, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain consistency across a high volume of deliverables.
  • Experience working within the social good, nonprofit, philanthropy, or related sectors is preferred.
  • An independent, collaborative, adaptable, and impact-oriented approach to creative work.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Fully remote-first working environment with flexibility around where you work.
  • Access to physical office hubs and virtual collaboration across a globally connected team.
  • Flexible PTO designed to support personal wellbeing and professional success.
  • Tuition and lifestyle reimbursement programs.
  • Bespoke mindfulness and fitness initiatives.
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • Exposure to diverse teams, industries, ideas, and projects within a growing organization.
  • Opportunities for internal mobility, career progression, leadership development, and movement across departments.
  • Significant autonomy, responsibility, and creative ownership.
  • Employee recognition programs that celebrate strong contributions and achievements.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity and accessibility accommodations.
