OSP Drafting Supervisor
Location: Remote
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Sigma Technologies is seeking a Drafting Supervisor with telecommunications drafting and design experience to lead a team supporting Outside Plant (OSP) projects. If you enjoy developing people, coordinating work, and staying involved in technical production, we have an attractive opportunity for you!
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will oversee daily team activities while also performing drafting and design work alongside your team. You will help set priorities, monitor performance, and ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
This position is remote. New hires are required to attend an initial two-week, paid, in-person orientation and training period at our headquarters in Perrysburg, OH. You must be available during core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Some work in the evenings may be required as duties demand.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO
- Supervise and lead the daily activities of a drafting team while also performing the work of those you supervise.
- Work with the Project Engineer to establish priorities, assign tasks, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion of work.
- Monitor team performance, work quality, and progress toward project goals, providing project reporting as assigned.
- Apply technical expertise and judgment to support telecommunications drafting and design activities, including OSP overhead wireline projects.
- Support the Project Manager and Project Engineer with project coordination and execution.
- Assist with reviewing project procedures, specifications, standards, and documentation; recommend improvements and implement approved changes.
- Coordinate with other teams and functions to support project needs and resolve issues.
- Coach and mentor team members to support their technical skills and professional development.
- Manage employee performance, complete and deliver annual performance reviews, and provide input on disciplinary actions.
- Adapt priorities and leadership approaches as conditions change, supporting team members through those changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or higher is preferred
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry is required; previous experience as a supervisor/manager is strongly preferred
- Advanced field, drafting, and/or design knowledge in the telecommunications industry is required
- Experienced with Outside Plant (OSP) overhead wireline drafting and/or design
- Identified leadership skills
- Familiar with basic concepts, practices, and procedures used in general personnel management
- Strong technical knowledge, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop plans and organize work to ensure efforts are focused, resources are aligned, progress is monitored, and targets are met.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team
- Basic financial management skills
- Ability to learn and operate customer-based proprietary software
- Is available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time - evening and/or weekend work may be required as duties demand
- Willing and able to travel as needed, including overnight travel
- Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance
- Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check
- Authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time, including sitting at a desk or driving in a vehicle.
- Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
- Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
- Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
