Department: ReStore

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Work Schedule:

Tuesday: 9:45am - 6:15pm

Thursday: 9:45am - 6:15pm

Friday: 9:45am - 6:15pm

Sunday: 11:00 am - 5:15pm

Approximately 29 hours per week. This schedule is subject to change based on the operational needs of the ReStore.

San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has been active in the community for over 30 years. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International our work locally helps families build or repair homes here and abroad. Using our hand up, not a handout model more than 400 families have been able to achieve the security of an affordable place to call home. The SGV Habitat affiliate maintains an office in Monrovia, a resource center in Altadena and operates a retail resale store (ReStore) in Pasadena. We serve 31 communities by offering access to affordable first-time homebuyer opportunities, long-term disaster recovery assistance, low cost home preservation, skilled construction training and volunteer opportunities to strengthen families and stabilize communities.

Job Summary:

The Pasadena ReStore, operated by San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Warehouse Associate. The position is responsible for partnering with the Logistics and ReStore team in a high energy fast-paced environment to perform a variety of operational functions. This physically active role involves loading and unloading trucks, stocking and pricing merchandise, and maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.

As a key team member, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the ReStore and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will interact professionally with donors, volunteers, and customers, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere. Your efforts directly support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to raise funds for building affordable housing in the San Gabriel Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Safely load and unload delivery trucks using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
  • Transport donated items from the warehouse to the sales floor, including handling large and heavy objects such as furniture, appliances, and fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Sort, process, and prepare merchandise for display and sale according to established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational and sales goals.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Operate warehouse equipment and technology efficiently and responsibly.
  • Support cycle counts and participate in physical inventory audits.
  • Identify and report damaged or missing merchandise promptly.
  • Work with volunteers of all ability levels to ensure a positive volunteer experience while supporting the operations of the ReStore
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, donation processing, or retail preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift certification preferred; willingness to complete required equipment and safety training.
  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including extended standing and walking; frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying; and moving merchandise weighing up to 75 pounds using assistance or appropriate equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in a physically active warehouse environment with varying seasonal temperatures and use required personal protective equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, home improvement products, furniture, appliances, and home décor.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills when working with donors, customers, employees, and volunteers.
  • Basic reading and math skills to follow instructions, price merchandise, count inventory, and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory, pricing, and other applicable ReStore systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize assignments and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependability, initiative, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively while following instructions and safe material-handling practices.
  • Ability and willingness to work Sunday shifts
