ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES:
iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. We use the K-12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via the Engageli platform. Teachers instruct students online daily both synchronously and asynchronously.
HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION:
Full time Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
Starting Hourly Rate: $22.25/hour
We do participate in CalPERS. Please contact your CalPERS counselor about how employment with iQ Academy, Los Angeles may affect your personal PERS account. Only full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system.
Job Description
Job Title: Student Success Clerk
Reports To: Director, Student Engagement
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Overview:
Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children. Virtual school staff are part of a pioneering effort. Our team, therefore, need to share the School’s pioneering mission and approach.
Summary:
The Student Success Clerk serves as a important link between the school and families to support student retention and achievement as well as teacher retention. The role involves using early warning indicators to identify at-risk students, collaborating with teachers to implement support strategies, and performing essential clerical duties for both General and Special Education departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize early warning indicators to identify students who are most likely at risk of not successfully completing the year
Work closely with teacher and administrators to develop systematic strategies and initiatives to identify and support students, and collect data to determine effectiveness of strategies and initiatives
Review trackers and other reports to identify students who need additional support
Complete withdrawal audits to inform administration of trends and possible necessary supports to reduce future withdrawals
Communicate with all withdrawing students/families to ensure student is enrolled in school and ensure proper documentation
Communicate high expectations and shows an active interest in student’s achievement, establish and maintain a positive rapport with families; communicate regularly with parents and students at risk of not completing the year successfully
Disseminate necessary student information to stakeholders
Collaborate with all teams to provide a positive experience for students
Provide clerical support for General Education administration.
Provide clerical support for Special Education Department.
Provide support to Ed Specialists with clerical tasks such as scheduling sessions and following up with IEP signatures.
Communicate with parents to follow up on missing items such as ISMA’s and Back to School Packets.
Attend in-person and/or virtual training and professional development as needed to maintain a level of expertise in the field
Proctor in person state testing as needed
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred

This position is a virtual position working from a home office. Must have ability to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, proctor state exams and participate in school activities and orientations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
