Position Title: Material Handler

Reports To: Supervisor
Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, storing, staging, and tracking materials and products within the warehouse or production facility. This role supports efficient operations by ensuring materials are handled accurately, inventory is maintained properly, and shipments are prepared on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials and products.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems or scanners.
- Inspect materials for damage or defects and report issues to supervision.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Support production or shipping teams as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse or outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Employees in this position are required to wear appropriate PPE at all times while in designated work areas, including:
- Safety glasses with side shields
- Work gloves appropriate for handling materials
- Hearing protection when required in high-noise areas
Safety Expectations
- Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Work Schedule
- Full-time M - F
- Shift availability may include days, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
