Description:

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for a Medical Records Clerk to work out of our Corporate Office located in Harrisburg, PA. The ideal Medical Records Clerk should be upbeat and maintain a pleasant working attitude when interacting with coworkers, patients, and individuals seeking assistance with medical records requests.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties pertaining to processing medical record requests. Other responsibilities include:

  • Answer, forward, and log incoming medical record requests
  • Comply with state and federal privacy laws and statutes regarding the billing and invoicing of medical records
  • Resolve patient and requester inquiries, both verbal and written
  • Document all communication relative to patient accounts
  • Work with the Medical Records team and appropriate staff to successfully resolve record requests
  • Communicate changes in reimbursement rates, state laws/requirements, or vital account billing information
  • Work closely with the Legal Department to resolve issues pertaining to medical records requests

Requirements:

The Medical Records Clerk is a fast-paced position, and as such, we must have someone who has the ability to multi-task. Other requirements for the Medical Records Clerk include:

  • At least 2 years of clerical experience
  • Ability to type with accuracy
  • Effective communication and telephone skills
  • Effective computer skills
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
