This role focuses on extending and optimizing the Workday platform to support HR, finance, and enterprise operations through robust configuration, reporting, and lightweight application development. You will work across Workday’s technical capabilities, including calculated fields, advanced reporting, business process configuration, and Workday Extend solutions, to translate complex business requirements into scalable system designs. The position sits at the intersection of HR technology, enterprise systems, and platform engineering, requiring both functional understanding and strong technical execution. You will collaborate closely with HR, finance, IT, and integration teams to ensure Workday delivers accurate, efficient, and well-governed business processes. The environment is highly collaborative and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on platform stability, maintainability, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact how critical workforce and financial processes operate across the organization. This is a hands-on technical role with significant influence on enterprise system design and data integrity.
- Design and develop advanced Workday reports, including calculated fields, composite reports, matrix reports, and dashboards to support business decision-making.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, approval workflows, condition rules, and security models across HCM and Finance modules.
- Develop Workday Extend applications and PRISM Analytics solutions to support scalable and maintainable platform extensions.
- Build and support report-based integrations and data exports for downstream systems and enterprise reporting needs.
- Configure and manage Workday security, including role-based, domain, and segment-based security frameworks.
- Partner with HR, payroll, finance, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Workday configurations.
- Support tenant refreshes, regression testing cycles, and release management activities, ensuring system stability across updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to reports, configurations, and business processes, implementing long-term fixes where needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for business processes, reporting logic, calculated fields, and security structures.
- Collaborate with integration and functional teams to ensure aligned and efficient data flows and system design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday technical experience in configuration, reporting, and platform development.
- Strong expertise in Workday Report Writer, including advanced, composite, and calculated field development.
- Solid experience configuring Workday business processes, workflows, and security frameworks.
- Hands-on knowledge of Workday HCM and Finance modules.
- Experience with Workday Extend and/or PRISM Analytics is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Workday tenant management, release cycles, and system lifecycle processes.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills in enterprise SaaS environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and functional stakeholders.
- Workday Pro certifications and experience supporting payroll or financial modules are a plus.
- Competitive salary range of $100,000 to $150,000 per year.
