Job Description

Description:

Join a team at the intersection of exceptional veterinary care and social change.

At the San Francisco SPCA, we believe every pet deserves compassionate, high-quality veterinary care—no matter their guardian’s financial situation. As a nonprofit, we break down barriers to care by offering financial assistance and individualized medical support to thousands of animals each year. Our work doesn’t serve shareholders—it serves pets, people, and the community.

We’re looking for a Training Coordinator who is passionate about helping people grow while improving patient care and client experience. The Training Coordinator is an integral member of the team ensuring the development and growth of team members across departments. This role supports the Leadership team in providing a smooth and pleasant onboarding process while creating a culture focused on patient care and client experience.

This position will require a flexible schedule including days, nights and weekends.

As the Training Coordinator, you’ll:

  • Develop and deliver onboarding, hands-on, and theoretical training programs across departments
  • Create and maintain training manuals, visual aids, checklists, progress reports, and knowledge checks
  • Partner with leaders to coordinate quarterly workshops and ensure development plans are in place for all staff
  • Mentor new hires and track training progress to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Client Experience Manager to enhance the client journey across all touchpoints
  • Work with leadership to review and update training plans every six months for effectiveness and accuracy
  • Model and support a relationship-centered approach to veterinary care

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on mentorship, enjoys designing systems that help others succeed, and wants to make a direct impact on the future of veterinary medicine.

Requirements:
  • RVT in good standing or equivalent experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years mentoring or training in a high-volume, high-responsibility medical environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DEA, Waste Management, and AAHA standards
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin preferred
  • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel

Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range for this position is $38 - $44 per hour. Regular, full-time positions are eligible for a benefits package including:

  • Generous Paid Time Off and Holiday pay
  • Medical, Dental & Vision insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Long-term Disability Insurance
