This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment where accuracy, structure, and client interaction are essential. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting processes across multiple client books, ensuring financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant with best practices. The position involves working closely with clients, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining strong financial reporting standards. You will handle both routine and complex accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, payroll processing, and revenue recognition. In addition, you will contribute to improving internal processes and developing best practices that enhance operational efficiency. This is a fast-paced, remote-first role that requires strong technical expertise, adaptability, and excellent communication skills in a collaborative, technology-driven accounting environment.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and validated.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including aging analysis, invoicing, and reconciliation activities.
- Perform payroll entries, payroll journal adjustments, and ensure proper recording of compensation-related transactions.
- Support month-end close processes, including accruals, revenue recognition schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and update client accounting records using platforms such as QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Process journal entries, fixed asset schedules, amortization, and complex accounting adjustments.
- Assist with sales tax calculations, 1099 filings, W9 requests, and other compliance-related tasks.
- Contribute to process documentation, workflow optimization, and the development of best practices.
- Communicate directly with clients via email, calls, and video conferencing to support accounting needs and resolve issues.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, or at least 1+ year of auditing experience in addition to accounting exposure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
- Solid experience in reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting directly with business clients.
- Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to US-based time zone requirements.
