Job Title: Volpak Operator

Location: Nampa, ID

This position is for our D Shift, Thursday-Saturday, every other Wednesday from 7pm-7am. There is a $4 differential for this shift.

Job Summary:

As a Volpak Machine Operator for Materne, North America you will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of the FFS (form, fill, seal) equipment for our manufacturing process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operate high-speed manufacturing equipment through touchscreen/HMI

  • Lift and add rolls of packaging film into machine

  • Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials

  • Inspect pouches for uniformity and quality

  • Document all necessary supply inventories

  • Operate industrial carts and forklifts in a safe manner

  • Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance of equipment

  • Clean packaging area and sanitize equipment

  • Complete daily paperwork and reports

  • Perform and complete sensory testing on the line

  • Demonstrate the Company’s values and winning behaviors while adhering to all company policies and practices, including safety and environmental protocols, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12- hours)

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs multiple times per shift

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred

  • Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate (verbal, read, write) effectively in English

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Computer skills (data entry & experience with an ERP system in a production environment preferred)

  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take measurements and understand tare weight).
