Staff Frontend Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale high-traffic web applications used by millions of users in a fast-growing, fully remote environment. You will play a key role in building and evolving modern frontend architecture for complex, real-time workflows in the youth sports ecosystem. Working with React and TypeScript, you will design performant, accessible, and highly reusable UI systems that power mission-critical product experiences. The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, including mentoring, architectural decision-making, and driving frontend best practices across teams. You will collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and QA partners to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences. This is a highly impactful role where engineering excellence directly supports large-scale user engagement and product growth.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable frontend applications while contributing as a hands-on engineer across complex product areas. You will help define technical direction, improve system performance, and ensure consistency across the frontend ecosystem.

  • Design, build, and optimize high-performance React and TypeScript single-page applications powered by REST APIs
  • Extend and evolve design systems, reusable UI components, and responsive frontend patterns
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into scalable, accessible interfaces
  • Partner with backend, QA, and mobile teams to define API contracts and ensure end-to-end product quality
  • Drive frontend engineering best practices including performance optimization, type safety, and component-driven architecture
  • Lead initiatives to improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and overall developer experience
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance to elevate team capability
  • Ensure application reliability through automated testing strategies (unit, integration, and E2E)
  • Evaluate and adopt modern tools, including AI-assisted development workflows and emerging frontend technologies
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern frontend engineering combined with strong technical leadership experience in building scalable, user-facing applications.

  • 8+ years of experience building production-grade web applications using React and advanced TypeScript
  • 2+ years of experience in a Staff or Tech Lead frontend role driving architecture and engineering standards
  • Strong experience with modern frontend tooling (Vite, Webpack, or similar)
  • Proven ability to manage complex UI state using tools such as Redux, Context API, Zustand, or equivalents
  • Experience designing or evolving design systems and component libraries with responsive, mobile-first principles
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and collaboration with backend teams on data contracts
  • Experience with automated testing strategies and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, observability tools, and frontend reliability metrics
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science or related field
Benefits
  • Minimum starting compensation of $200,000 (base + bonus), with adjustments based on experience and location
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families
  • Unlimited paid time off and paid parental leave for all parents
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • $1,500 annual learning and development stipend
  • Generous home office setup allowance
  • Monthly health and wellness stipend
  • Fully remote-first culture with flexibility across U.S. time zones
  • Company-sponsored travel for team events and offsites
  • Additional perks including swag credits and anniversary rewards
