Job Description
Teach History courses under the Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning Division. Courses may include:
- History of Modern Europe
- Ancient, Classical, & Medieval History
- History of Pre-Modern World
- Modern World History
- Women in US History
- Foundations of Historical Thinking & Analysis
- US History: Colonization through the Civil War
- US History: Reconstruction to Present
- American Civil Rights Movement
- African American History
- Asian American History
Courses may be offered at any of the BHCC campuses, satellite campuses, partner sites, or instructional sites, including but not limited to Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in History or related field.
- Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
- Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- Must be available to teach at to Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School.
- We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses:
- History of Modern Europe
- Ancient, Classical, & Medieval History
- History of Pre-Modern World
- Modern World History
- Women in US History
- Foundations of Historical Thinking & Analysis
- US History: Colonization through the Civil War
- US History: Reconstruction to Present
- American Civil Rights Movement
- African American History
- Asian American History
Preferred Requirements:
- Community college teaching experience preferred.
- Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred.
Additional Information:
Salary: $1,512 Per Credit Hour
Effective Date: Fall 2026 semester
