R&D Lab Coordinator in Plymouth, Indiana at Zentis North America LLC

Zentis is Europe's number one fruit processing company and one of the leading brand manufacturers of jams, sweets, and custard-based desserts. The Company's North America operations are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Plymouth, Indiana, where we produce fruit and dairy preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers. We are currently looking to recruit a Lab Coordinator for our Plymouth location.

This position is responsible for shipping all outgoing samples and managing lab materials (both ingredients and packinging supplies) as well as keeping the lab space stocked, organized, and sanitized for Research and Development team. This position will also be responsible for coordinating lab repairs and managing work orders with maintenance team. Other responsibilities include trial support, processing all incoming shipments, and providing weigh up support for Research and Development. All other tasks as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute all aspects of daily packaging and shipment for outgoing samples to customers, ordering shipping supplies as needed, attending parcel shipment trainings (as needed), maintaining relationship with Zentis UPS Account Manager. Serve as final Quality Control check for all labels and shipping documents.
• Provide support for Plymouth trials and lab cookings. Document all trial data, gather samples and perform analytical measurements as required. Support lab weigh-up as needed
• Process all incoming shipments to Research and Development. Keep record of incoming shipments, notify teammates of arrival, and store in correct location.
• Maintain, sanitize and organize Research and Development storage areas including dry storage rooms, coolers, and retain samples. Wash and stock lab supplies. Serve as expert on all dishwasher/cleaning operations for R&D. Maintain relationship with cleaning equipment representative (ie. AllChem for Dishwasher/Hobart needs). Manage all work orders with PLY maintenance team associated with lab needs.
• Coordinate disposal of expired or obsolete retain samples. Attend necessary Zentis trainings for hazardous disposal of ingredients (ie. Flavors)
• Coordinate orders of Lab/R&D Office Materials and supplies. Keep lab space stocked and organized for Research and Development team. Coordinate with MRO the biweekly supply of yogurt for PLY R&D use.

Formal Education Required:

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:

• Food industry experience preferred

• Must have basic computer knowledge along with excel and word.
• Collaboration and Team-Work focused. Quality mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with limited direction and high awareness for when issues need to be elevated.
