Material Manager
Total Site Solutions (TSS), Georgetown, TX, is looking for a dedicated Material Manager. The Material Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials essential to the organization's operations. This position ensures that all materials are available in the right quantity, quality, and at the right time to support production schedules and project timelines. The Material Manager collaborates closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve supply chain efficiency. They are responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory control systems and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP).
- Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to material storage and handling.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement material management strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials from reliable suppliers while negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to forecast material requirements and schedule timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of material transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns, using inventory management software.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to material handling and storage.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead and train material handling staff to maintain high standards of efficiency and safety.
