We are seeking a Senior Commercial Insights Analyst to join our organization and continue this commitment.
The Senior Commercial Insights Analyst is a key member of the Marketing organization, partnering closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, Sales Training, Market Development, and Research & Development. This role leads Commercial Analytics and Market Research initiatives, transforming complex data into actionable intelligence that drives strategic decision-making, strengthens market and customer understanding, and accelerates business growth. Working collaboratively with Sales and Marketing leadership, the Senior Commercial Insights Analyst develops and advances the organization's commercial analytics and market intelligence capabilities. The role delivers meaningful visibility into sales and product performance, identifies market opportunities and growth drivers, and provides data-driven recommendations that optimize commercial strategies, support product portfolio decisions, and advance long-term business objectives.
This position is based out of our headquarters office, south of downtown St. Paul. We welcome an on-site work environment Monday through Friday. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Marketing.
What You’ll Do As a Senior Commercial Insights Analyst
Sales Analytics & Commercial Performance (40%)
- Partner with Sales and Commercial leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive analytics portfolio that supports business management, strategic decision-making, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership to define, monitor, and communicate key performance indicators that measure commercial success.
- Develop and deliver analytics, dashboards, and performance reporting that provide actionable visibility into:
- Global sales performance (domestic and international)
- Regional and territory-level performance
- Revenue drivers and business trends
- Pipeline health and opportunity management
- Develop predictive models and performance analyses that improve forecasting accuracy and support strategic planning.
- Provide sales analytics that support Supply Chain, inventory management, and manufacturing planning processes.
- Translate performance data into actionable recommendations that enable business leaders to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Support Sales Opportunity Mapping down to an individual territory level.
Product Portfolio Analytics & Commercial Insights (20%)
- Partner with Marketing leadership to develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that evaluate product portfolio performance and support commercialization strategies.
- Create and maintain product-level reporting, including global roll-ups, category performance metrics, and portfolio insights.
- Analyze product and portfolio performance to identify:
- Growth opportunities
- Portfolio expansion opportunities
- Commercialization priorities
- Product lifecycle optimization opportunities
- Identify and monitor leading and lagging indicators to evaluate historical performance and predict future revenue opportunities.
- In collaboration with Product Marketing, recommend and support targeted marketing programs, promotional initiatives, and product growth strategies.
- Assess program outcomes and commercial initiatives using data-driven analysis to support continuous improvement and investment decisions.
- Provide ongoing analytical support for portfolio optimization, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives.
Market Intelligence, Research & Strategic Growth (40%)
- Lead strategic market intelligence and research initiatives that identify growth opportunities, evaluate market dynamics, and support long-term business strategy.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to assess:
- Market trends and industry dynamics
- Growth drivers and barriers
- Customer needs and buying behaviors
- Competitive positioning and market opportunities
- Continuously monitor the medical device landscape, including emerging technologies, procedures, and competitive developments that may impact demand for open and minimally invasive surgery.
- Develop and implement market-driven frameworks to evaluate:
- Organic product development opportunities
- Inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic collaborations
- Provide market intelligence and commercial analytics that support product innovation, portfolio expansion, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Conduct external market assessments to evaluate industry conditions and recommend:
- Product acquisition opportunities
- New program development
- Market expansion opportunities aligned with company objectives
- Deliver strategic recommendations that support innovation, product portfolio planning, and long-term business growth.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Education:
- Four year college degree required (business, finance, marketing). MBA desirable.
Experience:
- 5+ years of financial analysis or marketing data analytics required.
- Experience in medical product industry preferred.
- Global sales and marketing support experience preferred.
- Experience utilizing business intelligence software preferred.
- Working knowledge of market intelligence data platforms such as Definitive Healthcare, AcuityMD, Global Data, LSI, MRG is highly preferred.
Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, required.
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing and mining.
- Strong communication and presentation skill required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking.
Compensation
We are committed to equitable and transparent pay practices. The salary range for this position is $102,800 - $164,500, representing the minimum and maximum of our compensation structure. Starting pay will typically fall between these values and is determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, and internal equity. Offers near the higher end of the range are reserved for candidates with exceptional qualifications.
