This part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced Data Architect who wants to help shape modern, AI-ready data platforms for complex enterprise environments.
You will design scalable data architectures that connect business objectives with advanced analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The role focuses on building secure, high-performing data ecosystems across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, and Databricks technologies.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to create solutions that transform how organizations use data.
This position offers the chance to influence architecture decisions, establish best practices, and enable future-ready data strategies.
You will work in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment where technical expertise and strategic thinking directly contribute to impactful digital transformation initiatives.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and lead the implementation of scalable, AI-ready data architectures using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, and Databricks ecosystems.
  • Define end-to-end data architecture patterns, including ingestion, transformation, and curated data models supporting analytics and AI workloads.
  • Architect and optimize lakehouse solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and medallion architecture principles (bronze, silver, and gold layers).
  • Design and manage data lake architectures, ensuring efficient data replication, synchronization, and flow across multiple environments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting, analytics, and AI requirements into flexible and scalable data models.
  • Establish data governance, security, and access control strategies, including metadata management, role-based access control, encryption, data masking, and lineage tracking.
  • Prepare enterprise data environments for AI use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent search, summarization, and machine learning applications.
  • Support self-service analytics capabilities through AI-powered data exploration and natural language querying solutions.
  • Ensure architecture alignment with cloud best practices, including Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure/AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Drive performance and cost optimization across data platforms, including storage strategies, refresh processes, and platform configuration decisions.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and technical teams to translate architecture designs into reliable delivery outcomes.
  • Create technical documentation, reference architectures, standards, and reusable frameworks to improve future project execution.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platform design.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, and Azure SQL.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Databricks solutions, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Strong understanding of data lakehouse concepts, ETL/ELT processes, schema evolution, and medallion architecture patterns.
  • Proficiency in SQL with practical experience using Python for automation, validation, and data pipeline development.
  • Experience implementing data governance and metadata management solutions using tools such as Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Solid understanding of data security principles, including RBAC, encryption, privacy controls, and data protection practices.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud engineering tools such as Terraform or Bicep, Git, and Azure Monitor.
  • Experience designing AI-ready data environments, including knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, embedding pipelines, knowledge graphs, or RAG architectures is a plus.
  • Ability to apply modern data architecture approaches such as data products, domain-driven design, or data mesh principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business requirements across engineering, analytics, and leadership teams.
  • Strategic and adaptable mindset, comfortable working in fast-changing, client-facing environments focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
Benefits:
  • Part-time opportunity with flexibility to contribute to impactful enterprise data initiatives.
  • Opportunity to work on modern cloud, AI, analytics, and data platform transformation projects.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, learning, and professional growth.
  • Exposure to advanced technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Databricks, and AI-driven data solutions.
  • Inclusive workplace culture that values diverse perspectives, collaboration, and equal opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and technology professionals on high-impact solutions.
