Senior Liability Claims Specialist Floater

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Liability Claims Specialist Floater based in the United States.

This remote opportunity is designed for an experienced claims professional who can provide expert support across multiple client accounts during periods of increased demand. As a Senior Liability Claims Specialist Floater, you will manage complex liability claims, ensure continuity of service, and deliver high-quality claim outcomes. You will apply strong investigative skills, sound judgment, and industry expertise while handling litigated files and diverse client needs. The role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to collaborate with teams across a dynamic risk management environment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on solving problems and adapting quickly to changing priorities. Candidates located on the East Coast are preferred.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide temporary claims handling support across a variety of client accounts to ensure service continuity during high-demand periods.
  • Manage litigated liability claims while following established best practices, client requirements, and carrier guidelines.
  • Review new claims, confirm coverage details, acknowledge claims, and determine liability positions through thorough investigation.
  • Investigate automobile and/or general liability claims, assess exposure, establish appropriate reserves, and authorize payments within assigned authority limits.
  • Communicate claim updates and decisions effectively with customers, claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex or challenging claims to identify solutions and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable processes, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and client satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the claims industry, with strong knowledge of liability claims handling.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Active adjuster’s license in the state of operation is required; multi-state licensing is preferred.
  • Experience handling litigated claims, automobile liability, and/or general liability claims is highly valued.
  • Municipality claims experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, claimants, and internal teams.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes, adapt to different client requirements, and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple files independently.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
