Fiberglass Maintenance Technician in Hays, Kansas at Hess Services Inc

Job Purpose: Maintenance personnel are responsible for ensuring the maintenance of equipment.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
2. Inspects equipment daily and completes inspection form. Reports any nonfunctional parts to Supervisor.
3. Rebuilds and tests equipment as needed.
4. Perform scheduled PMs (preventive maintenance work orders).
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
6. Properly dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with KDHE requirements.
7. Use of hazardous chemicals to clean equipment or other tasks.
8. Ensure all containers containing hazardous materials are labeled and kept covered when not actively in use.
9. Complete initial and continued training related to hazardous waste management.
10. Performs additional duties as needed.
11. Regular attendance and timeliness.

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as charts, procedure manuals and job instructions with basic problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5. Ability to accurately read and record measurements using measuring tools.
6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
7. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Has strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
8. Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
9. Ability to operate computer.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

4. Must abide by PPE requirements.
