Part-time Infant-Two-Year-Old Teacher in Birmingham, Alabama at Valleydale Baptist Church

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Valleydale Early Learning Center Director, the Infant – Two-year-old teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and Christ-centered environment that promotes the mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth of the children in his/her care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Arrive to work, meetings, and trainings promptly
• Display professionalism in punctuality, mannerisms, and attire according to the Code of Conduct
• Develop and present appropriate lesson plans
• Submit lesson plans, calendars, and supply list monthly
• Supervise all classroom and daily routine activities
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with parents and other staff members
• Treat children in a positive manner that encourages individuality and positive self-esteem
• Introduce alphabet and numbers 1-10
• Teach shapes and colors
• Teach Bible story and verse daily
• Teach monthly core values that are outlined in the teachers manual
• Help with assigned carpool duties
• Replace items from the resource room daily
• Leave classroom clean and orderly

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and child development practices
• Knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to young children
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities
• Knowledge of Bible stories and songs

Hours

• Mid-August through Mid-May
• 9:00am-2:00pm minimum
