Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Technology and Platform AI Specialist (Associate) based in South Africa.
This is a consulting-focused opportunity for an experienced marketing technology and performance marketing professional working at the intersection of advertising, analytics, search, and AI.
You will help marketing-led clients understand how platform-native AI can improve campaign execution, measurement, targeting, and analysis.
The role requires a practical understanding of major advertising and analytics ecosystems and how their AI capabilities are evolving.
You will identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary duplication, make better use of existing platform capabilities, and determine where differentiated intelligence can create additional value.
You will also assess the impact of AI-driven search on SEO, AEO, and digital visibility while advising on responsible marketing data practices.
Working remotely and engaging through defined client projects, you will contribute to workshops, opportunity assessments, and pilot initiatives.
This role is well suited to a hands-on marketing technology professional who combines platform expertise with strong analytical thinking and practical consulting skills.
Assess clients' current use of Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, GA4, Search Console, and related marketing platforms, including the AI capabilities they already have available.
Map and evaluate native AI functionality across campaign creation, audience targeting, bidding, creative development, measurement, optimization, and performance analysis.
Identify areas where clients are duplicating capabilities that platforms already automate and highlight opportunities to better leverage existing native features.
Determine where differentiated, client-owned intelligence can provide additional value across or above existing marketing platforms.
Evaluate clients' SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) practices and assess how AI-powered search is influencing visibility, discovery, and performance.
Advise on marketing data access, consent, and relevant POPIA requirements relating to direct marketing activities.
Support the evaluation and prioritization of marketing AI opportunities through use-case scoring and pilot selection.
Contribute practical platform and AI expertise to client workshops, assessments, and consulting engagements.
Provide clear recommendations that distinguish between capabilities best handled natively by existing platforms and opportunities requiring additional technology or intelligence.
Disclose any current agency, platform, or competitor affiliations that could create a conflict of interest before participating in an engagement.
Degree in Marketing, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 7 years of experience in paid media, performance marketing, marketing technology, or a closely related field, including agency experience.
Hands-on experience managing campaigns across at least three major advertising platforms.
Demonstrated experience evaluating and using platform-native AI capabilities, such as Google Performance Max, Meta Advantage+, or comparable tools.
Strong current knowledge of advertising, analytics, search, and marketing technology platforms.
Practical understanding of SEO and AEO and the evolving impact of generative and AI-powered search on digital visibility.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex marketing technology environments and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
Understanding of marketing data access, consent requirements, and POPIA direct marketing considerations.
Comfortable working directly with clients, facilitating discussions, presenting findings, and contributing to consulting engagements.
Able to work independently and adapt quickly to different client environments, objectives, and technology stacks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical platform capabilities in clear, business-focused language.
Current Google Ads and Google Analytics certifications are preferred.
Ability to manage potential conflicts of interest transparently and professionally.
Fully remote working arrangement.
Flexible engagement model based on individual client statements of work.
Scope, number of days, and daily rate agreed separately for each engagement.
Competitive daily rate agreed per engagement.
Opportunity to work on AI-focused consulting engagements with marketing-led clients.
Exposure to leading advertising, analytics, search, and AI platforms.
Opportunity to influence how organizations adopt and integrate platform-native AI capabilities.
Variety of client projects, marketing use cases, and technology environments.
Opportunity to contribute to workshops, pilot programs, and strategic AI initiatives.
Client-site or in-person workshop attendance when required by the engagement.
