Accurate charge capture connects clinical documentation, physician workflows, and financial performance. As a Charge Capture Specialist, you’ll serve as a strategic resource for charge capture and documentation workflows to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the charge capture phase of the revenue cycle. Using data, reporting, and revenue insights, you’ll identify trends, improve processes, and help teams strengthen charge accuracy, documentation, and operational efficiency.
As a Charge Capture Specialist, a typical day might include:
- Analyzing charge capture and documentation workflows using error trends, reconciliation reports, and revenue leakage data.
- Building relationships with CDM specialist, medical records, finance patient accounting department
- Designing and implementing standardized charge capture workflows to improve accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization to reduce recurring errors and improve data integrity.
- Validating and reconciling all Department charges by reviewing the medical record
- Partnering with Health Information Management, Patient Access Management and Financial Services to ensure accuracy in charge capture and billing

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience in business, finance or health related field preferred. Experience in charge capture, chart review, and chart auditing required. Minimum of 2-5 years of financial experience required Strong knowledge of Excel and skills are essential. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CSS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Preferred.
