The CNC Laser Cutter Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC laser cutting equipment to produce quality metal parts according to customer specifications, production drawings, and work orders. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, proper material handling, and the ability to inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality

In this role you will get to:

  • Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal and plate according to specifications.
  • Set up the laser cutter for different materials, thicknesses, and job requirements.
  • Load and unload raw materials using proper material-handling procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and CNC programs.
  • Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and quantity before production.
  • Monitor the machine during operation and make basic adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts for proper dimensions, cut quality, and defects.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Sort, label, and organize completed parts for the next production operation.
  • Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the laser equipment.
  • Report machine problems, material issues, and quality concerns to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Job Requirements: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of measuring tools and weld quality inspection.
  • Previous CNC laser cutting or metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machine operation.
  • Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely handle metal materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and production processes.
