Senior Consultant - Telecom

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Consultant - Telecom based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced telecom professional to apply deep wireless communications expertise in the fast-paced world of intellectual property consulting. Working remotely while collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will support high-profile patent litigation, technology strategy, and IP monetization initiatives for leading clients. The role combines advanced technical analysis with strategic consulting, offering the chance to influence complex legal and business decisions. You will work on cutting-edge telecommunications technologies, mentor talented professionals, and engage directly with executives, legal teams, and industry experts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems while delivering meaningful business impact in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Accountabilities
  • Provide strategic consulting to clients on telecommunications technologies, intellectual property strategy, patent litigation, and licensing initiatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive patent portfolio evaluations to identify strengths, infringement risks, licensing opportunities, and monetization potential.
  • Analyze wireless communication technologies, including 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G, Radio Access Networks, and 3GPP/ETSI standards, to support complex legal and commercial engagements.
  • Translate highly technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for legal professionals, executives, investors, and other non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor research teams performing technical analysis, patent evaluations, and technology assessments.
  • Develop technical reports, whitepapers, and industry publications that demonstrate thought leadership in telecommunications and intellectual property.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while collaborating across global teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.
  • Support client meetings, expert discussions, depositions, conferences, and other project activities requiring domestic travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience within the telecommunications or cellular technology industry.
  • Extensive expertise in wireless communication technologies, including 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G, network architectures, and 3GPP/ETSI standards.
  • Strong understanding of protocol layers (L1, L2, L3), base station operations, user equipment, and Radio Access Network technologies such as OFDMA and SC-FDMA.
  • Experience supporting patent analysis, technical due diligence, intellectual property strategy, or litigation-related technical consulting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, research, technical writing, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring technical teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong client-facing consulting skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel domestically for approximately 40% of the time.
