Job Description
The Engineer is responsible for translating architectural drawings and specifications into engineered solutions and production-ready documentation for custom cabinetry and millwork. This role ensures accurate interpretation of design intent, efficient material usage, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret architectural drawings and customer specifications to develop detailed engineering drawings and production packages.
- Generate cut lists, BOMs, and CNC-ready files for production using engineering software.
- Ensure constructability of all designs in coordination with drafting and production teams.
- Work with project managers, estimators, and shop leads to resolve engineering and design challenges.
- Use Innergy (or similar) software for engineering layouts, data input, and job tracking when applicable.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with AWI standards, ADA regulations, and client-specific requirements.
- Support product submittals and documentation for customer approvals
- Maintain proper documentation and version control for engineering deliverables.
- Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in engineering within the commercial millwork or casework industry.
- Experience with Innergy or similar cabinetry engineering platforms strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering/drafting software required.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing.
- Strong understanding of AWI, ADA, and industry-specific standards.
- Ability to problem-solve, collaborate with multiple departments, and manage deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
