WRA is seeking a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Land Development Group in our Fairfax, VA office.
Our team provides comprehensive planning, design, permitting, and construction-phase services for a diverse range of site development projects, including higher education campuses, mixed-use developments, planned communities, urban revitalization initiatives, parks, and public spaces. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions for our clients and communities.
Responsibilities
- Support and lead the planning, design, and development of site and land development projects.
- Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, and permit applications.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project team members.
- Assist with construction-phase services, including reviews, site visits, and project support.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, surveyors, and other design professionals to deliver successful projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in civil/site land development engineering.
- Experience with the planning, design, permitting, and construction support of residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial development projects.
- Experience working on projects within the Mid-Atlantic region preferred.
- Stormwater Management (SWM) and Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) design and permitting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative design team.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
- U.S. citizenship required.
