Job Description

E-commerce Director / Senior E-commerce Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an E-commerce Director / Senior E-commerce Manager based in Canada.

This role is designed for a strategic yet highly hands-on digital commerce leader ready to take full ownership of a Shopify-driven DTC business. You will be responsible for building and scaling the e-commerce function from the ground up, starting with a deep audit of current performance and identifying the highest-impact improvements across site experience, merchandising, analytics, and conversion. Working closely with the Founder, you will define the roadmap for growth and execute foundational improvements before expanding into paid media and CRM. The environment is fast-moving, entrepreneurial, and highly execution-focused, where your decisions directly shape revenue and customer experience. This is a unique opportunity to build a best-in-class e-commerce engine with full autonomy and strategic influence. As the business matures, you will also help structure teams, processes, and external partnerships to support scalable growth.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will own the end-to-end performance and development of the e-commerce channel, with a strong focus on Shopify optimization, conversion growth, and scalable digital operations.

  • Take full ownership of the Shopify store, including storefront experience, backend operations, catalog structure, and platform performance
  • Conduct a full audit of the existing digital experience and build a clear 30/60/90-day roadmap focused on high-impact improvements
  • Drive conversion rate optimization (CRO) through funnel analysis, experimentation, and continuous performance testing
  • Improve merchandising strategy across product pages, collections, navigation, search, and promotions to maximize AOV and revenue
  • Establish robust analytics, tracking, and reporting frameworks to monitor performance and guide decision-making
  • Build and manage promotional calendars aligned with revenue goals while protecting brand integrity
  • Ensure product data accuracy, catalog hygiene, and operational excellence across all digital touchpoints
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution with designers, developers, content creators, and external partners
  • Source, manage, and optimize relationships with freelancers, agencies, and contractors as needed
  • Define, track, and continuously refine key performance indicators for sustainable DTC growth
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior e-commerce professional with strong Shopify expertise, analytical depth, and a proven ability to drive measurable online revenue growth in fast-paced environments.

  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce with full ownership of site performance and revenue outcomes
  • Strong expertise in Shopify, including store management, app integrations, catalog structure, and platform optimization
  • Proven track record of improving conversion rates through CRO, merchandising, and funnel optimization strategies
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret customer behavior, build reporting frameworks, and prioritize growth levers
  • Experience working cross-functionally with creative, technical, and marketing teams
  • Comfortable operating in lean, high-growth, entrepreneurial environments with end-to-end ownership
  • Ability to work aligned with North American time zones; Canada-based candidates strongly preferred
  • Nice to have: experience in DTC, fashion, apparel, or consumer products environments
  • Nice to have: experience scaling CRM/email marketing, paid media, or lifecycle marketing initiatives
  • Nice to have: familiarity with AI-enabled tools for content, merchandising, or optimization workflows
Benefits:
  • Competitive monthly compensation of $6,000 – $8,000
  • Access to a $200K+ perks marketplace with discounts across 150+ global services
  • Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday
  • Fully remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada
  • High-impact role with direct ownership of e-commerce strategy and execution
  • Opportunity to build and scale a digital commerce function from the ground up
  • Close collaboration with company leadership in a fast-growth environment.
