Job Description

Lead Product Designer, Growth (Upper Funnel)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Product Designer, Growth (Upper Funnel) based in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of product design, growth strategy, and user psychology, focusing on how users first experience value and decide to continue their journey within a complex SaaS platform. You will shape discovery, activation, onboarding, pricing, and upgrade experiences that directly influence conversion, retention, and long-term trust. The work spans end-to-end funnel ownership, from early experimentation and hypothesis design to high-fidelity execution and system-level design thinking. You will partner closely with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate behavioral insights into intuitive, high-impact user flows. This is a highly strategic yet hands-on role where craft, experimentation, and systems thinking all matter equally. You will also help define what strong growth design looks like across the organization.

Accountabilities:

Own and design end-to-end upper funnel experiences across discovery, activation, onboarding, pricing, upgrade, and lifecycle touchpoints, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong conversion impact

  • Define and evolve growth journeys that connect acquisition, activation, and monetization into a cohesive user experience system
  • Design and prototype high-quality UX and visual solutions, including interaction design and experiment-ready concepts that inform product direction
  • Use behavioral data, funnel metrics, and experiment results as core inputs to guide and refine design decisions
  • Lead and support growth experiments from hypothesis definition through execution and performance analysis in collaboration with product and data teams
  • Build reusable growth patterns within the design system to scale consistent and trust-driven experiences across surfaces
  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure precise implementation of flows, interactions, and design intent
  • Contribute to design leadership by mentoring peers, elevating growth design practices, and advocating for user trust in monetization decisions
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of product design experience in SaaS, PLG, or complex digital products, with strong exposure to growth or conversion-focused work
  • Proven experience designing onboarding, activation, pricing, or monetization flows in data-informed environments
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to understand how design decisions impact entire user journeys and business outcomes
  • Excellent craft in UX and visual design, including interaction design, hierarchy, spacing, motion, and polish
  • Experience working closely with product and data teams, interpreting funnel metrics and experiment outcomes to guide design direction
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, experimentation-driven environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other designers, formally or informally, to raise overall design quality
  • Curiosity, ownership mindset, and ability to proactively explore problems beyond the initial brief
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work within Canada
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market benchmarks
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage (varies by location)
  • Flexible time off and strong work-life balance culture
  • Professional development support and learning opportunities
  • Collaborative, design-driven environment focused on craft and impact
  • Opportunity to work on high-scale product experiences with global user reach
