Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist based in Canada.

This is a fully remote, long-term contract opportunity focused on strengthening enterprise quality assurance practices within complex, mission-critical systems. The role plays a key part in improving software reliability by designing and maintaining robust automated testing solutions. You will work across modern web applications, integrations, and enterprise platforms, ensuring high standards of performance and stability. The environment is highly collaborative, with strong emphasis on CI/CD integration and continuous improvement. You will contribute to both manual and automated testing strategies while helping mature testing frameworks at scale. This is an impactful role suited to someone who thrives in modern DevOps-driven delivery environments.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for advancing quality assurance capabilities across enterprise systems by combining manual and automated testing expertise. You will design, build, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to support scalable and reliable software delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites for web applications, third-party systems, and integrations
  • Contributing to manual, integration, and performance testing efforts across multiple projects
  • Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve release quality and speed
  • Troubleshooting and stabilizing test automation frameworks and improving overall test reliability
  • Collaborating with developers, DevOps, and product teams to enhance QA best practices and coverage
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in quality assurance within complex software environments, with a strong focus on test automation and modern development practices. You should be comfortable working independently in remote settings while collaborating with distributed teams. Key requirements include:

  • At least 8 years of experience testing web applications, third-party applications, and system integrations
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in test automation development and maintenance
  • Strong proficiency with tools such as Cypress, Jenkins, and Postman
  • Experience with test management platforms such as Allure TestOps
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled development or testing tools such as GitHub Copilot is a strong asset
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on improving test stability and coverage
  • Experience working in regulated, financial services, or mission-critical environments is highly valued
  • Must be eligible for Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance (or have resided in Canada for at least 5 years)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams
