Overview

The Sr. Business System Analyst (BSA) is a critical role between IT and our business functions aimed at working on all efforts to modernize existing processes, deliver value, and satisfy needs through application of technology. A key responsibility of the IT BSA is to partner with the functions that they support and bring together cross-functional solutions to the delivery of IT services and realize meaningful business-aligned results in a prioritized manner. The IT BSA is responsible for delivering end-to-end lifecycles of IT service delivery for the functions he/she supports from initial ideation and scope definition to implementation, training, hyper care, and operational support. In doing so they will function as the bridge to understand and prioritize business needs and deliver the activities with the various IT teams to apply the necessary technology-related services. Furthermore, this person should be able to proactively sense and anticipate changes or new capabilities that can be exploited to deliver further value to their stakeholders.

This role is responsible for ensuring that the IT service delivery model is effectively and efficiently supports the day-to-day operational needs, as well as envisioning, recommending, and delivering business changes to digitally transform, automate, streamline, and ensure a highly available service offering for our internal and external customers. You will ensure successful delivery and performance of IT services for the organization.

Furthermore, a successful person in this role will be able to identify and exploit opportunities that enable continuous business process improvement, leveraging information technology to automate and streamline a wide array of business processes.



Responsibilities

  • A key focus of this role will be to partner with business and IT teams to deliver the effort to modernize how they use data, increasing their organization maturity to enable operational efficiencies (automation and standardization) and expose actionable insights at an enterprise-wide breadth and depth.
  • You will be expected to work with the respective business partners to define key initiatives, understand needs, define what success looks like (target end state), help create a holistic plan to achieve the intended business outcome, and deliver the effort in coordination with other corporate and value center IT teams.
  • Function as the IT point of contact between the IT function and the corporate functions you support, to deliver top-notch IT services in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Partner with business to identify opportunities to evaluate, prioritize, sequence, and shape the initiatives with the goal to drive efficiencies and create real business value by applying technology in a results-oriented manner.
  • Help define, implement, and deliver the digital transformation to support the company’s vision and strategic priorities.
  • Ability to effectively translate complex business problems into clear, actionable technical requirements and ensure alignment between stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
  • Help define the key initiatives, understanding needs, define what success looks like (target end state), create a plan to achieve the intended business outcome, and deliver the effort in coordination with other corporate and value center IT teams.
  • Effectively and efficiently deliver key initiatives, ensuring projects are completed in line with business priorities, on-time, and on-budget – this includes but is not limited to creation of scope definition, requirements analysis, functional design, risk analysis, implementation plans, test plans, etc.
  • Function as an advocate for the functions you support by monitoring the status of open incidents, tasks, and related requests; escalate as needed with the respective IT leaders, where needed to expedite outcomes. Identify trends that can/should be addressed to prevent operational interruptions and improve user experience.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate project/effort status in a repeatable and consistent manner to ensure all stakeholders are aware of status, risks, delays (potential or realized) and roadblocks.
  • Function as a change agent to identify, lead and deliver business process and technical changes effectively and efficiently across a matrixed organization.
  • Innovate using knowledge and awareness of industry trends; identify new opportunities for the functions
  • As required, engage as a project manager including evaluating development efforts and progress against strategic plans and value creation objectives.
  • Through earning trust and building credibility, become a trusted partner with business leaders and their teams.
  • Partner with the functions you support and deeply understand how they do their work, needs, challenges, identify opportunities and recommend/provide/facilitate best-in-class solutions that create value and competitive advantage.
  • Work with the business to understand the needs and help establish IT solutions that enable business growth and improve business process efficiency and sustainability.
  • Drive and deliver a data first mentality at all levels of the organization, both business and IT; enable capabilities to drive meaningful, actionable insights in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with business to define data-driven strategies and initiatives that will contribute to the company's growth and success.
  • Assess and prioritize all related efforts to make best use of various business and IT resources that maximize value delivered to the business.
  • Support SOX compliance, Security Compliance, M&A activities, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and present project and technology proposals and provide status and progress reporting to leaders.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
  • Implement and operate daily using continuous process improvement as a way of life. (e.g., Lean, ITIL, Six Sigma methodologies).


Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in delivering large-scale systems planning analysis, design, and development projects.
  • Adept at building relationships across the enterprise through collaboration, teaming, and consensus building.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is desirable.
  • Experience and skills in delivering digital transformations across various functional areas (finance, sales, marketing, supply, chain, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ERP system integrations, data mapping and extraction.
  • Experience with Sales & CRM system integrations, data mapping and extraction.
  • Prior experience supporting, deploying, and enhancing SAP, Salesforce, Abas, other ERPs, EDI, Sales/CRM tools, and MES systems is highly desirable.
  • Passion for customer service, improving business processes and finding new ways to enable operational efficiencies through use of information technology.
  • Experience in delivering / executing projects related to process improvement, streamlining disparate business reports/data, and implementing analytics capabilities.
  • Highly motivated and responsive to business needs. Strong team player across the business functions and within the IT teams.
  • High level of skill and expertise in holding others accountable in the delivery of projects.
  • Expert negotiation skills to advocate on behalf of the business with both internal stakeholders and external vendors / service providers.
  • Skilled in business process mapping and documentation using standard methodologies, with the ability to redesign processes for scalability and efficiency.
  • Experience with advanced project techniques and practices including budgeting, planning, analysis, requirements gathering, functional solution design, solution testing/validation and reporting.
  • Well-developed and regularly demonstrated competencies including but not limited to self-confidence, results orientation, interpersonal astuteness, visioning, strategic planning, and communications.
  • Technical competence to lead efforts and work with various expert technical teams across a full project lifecycle.
  • Strong project coordination and prioritization skills is required.
  • Strong capability to run and facilitate workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and process design discussions with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, including user readiness, adoption planning, user training materials, playbooks, process documentation, and knowledge base articles.
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically.
  • Ability to be challenged with ambiguous situations; dissect and plan the work that simplifies the work for themselves and others, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Passion for data and innovation.
  • Proven ability to deliver multiple projects to completion while maintaining quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Ability to define and measure KPIs to evaluate solution effectiveness and track delivered business value
